Sunday's best NCAAB bets

Clemson Tigers at Florida State Seminoles (-7.5, 123.5)

The Seminoles have locked up the No. 3-seed in the ACC Tournament and a first-round bye but are just 3-3 in their last six and are seeking momentum heading into the postseason.

The Tigers are winners of three straight and five of six, and still have a shot at the fourth and final bye in the conference tournament.

Clemson enters play on Sunday with the ACC’s second best scoring defense, allowing opponents 59.7 points per game. The Tigers also do a good job of applying pressure to opposing offenses, ranking first in the conference in turnover margin (+2.45) and trailing only Florida State in steals per game (7.5).

Individually, Andre Young (52) and Tanner Smith (50) are in the ACC’s top three in steals. Young paces the Clemson offense with 13.2 points per game.

FSU, which stormed back to beat Virginia in its last outing, wants to avenge the 79-59 loss to the Tigers that opened ACC play for both teams. Michael Snaer leads Florida State in scoring, averaging 13.8 points, while Ian Miller (10.8) and Bernard James (10.3) also post double-figure averages.

Clemson is 5-1 ATS in its last six road games.

Pick: Tigers ---

Michigan Wolverines at Penn State Nittany Lions (5.5, 121)

No. 16 Michigan can earn a share of the Big Ten regular-season title if it wins and Michigan State loses to Ohio State.

The Wolverines have won five of six as they gear up for a second straight NCAA tournament appearance. They’ve won three straight conference road games, including Thursday’s 72-61 win at Illinois.

Penn State, meanwhile, can avoid last place with a win. And the Nittany Lions are not pushovers at home, where they’ve notched 10 of their 12 wins.

Tim Frazier does it all for Penn State, averaging 18.8 points, 6.3 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals.

The home team is 10-3-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings.

Pick: Nittany Lions +++
