NHL Betting – Monday Multiple Picks & Predictions

Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers
After NHL odds makers opened the Rangers -145 favorites, NHL betting on the Rangers has since raised the moneyline to -155. The total is holding steady at 5.

There has yet to be more than five goals in any one game in this series, and both teams are doing everything possible to keep goals off the board. The Capitals have been a shot-blocking machine as they dropped in front of 26 shots in Game 4 and they’re going to keep doing the same. Meanwhile, the Rangers are a strong defensive team anyway, and they don’t need to be reminded of how valuable each goal is.
Goals have been hard to come by in the series, and 11 of the last 13 meetings between the teams has seen five goals or less, so there’s a good chance that'll be the case on Monday, too. Go with the UNDER in your NHL picks for this evening.
NHL Picks: UNDER  push

Nashville Predators vs. Phoenix Coyotes
NHL odds makers opened the Coyotes -115 home favorites, and that figure, despite fluctuations at some NHL betting shops, has basically remained steady.
The Nashville Predators might be tapped out, but the Phoenix Coyotes aren’t exactly a team we can trust yet to close an opponent out. We saw in Game 5 of their first-round series with the Chicago Blackhawks that it was a challenge so Game 5 in this series could also be problematic. Instead, I’m going to rely on the UNDER.
Both teams know that their path to victory is by playing defense first, taking care of their own zone and then hoping to somehow get the lead. The first two games saw a combined 15 goals but the last two meetings have totaled just three, which is what we expected to see when the series started.
Both Pekka Rinne and Mike Smith know they have to shine for their teams to win. Both blue lines have to play outstanding and not give up any opportunities, and that’s mostly what they’ve done in the last two games. On top of that, the Preds offense is a question mark whether leading scorer Alexander Radulov plays or not in Game 5 after missing the last two contests, and whether or not he plays wholeheartedly.
Look for Nashville to be particularly conservative to start Game 5 as they simply can’t afford to fall behind. They have been able to dig themselves out of holes since Game 1 and they know that even a 0-0 score line after one period might be a win for them – especially on the road.
The Coyotes’ defense has been airtight anyway, so look for them to continue to play with plenty of confidence. With that in mind, take the UNDER.
NHL Picks: UNDER 5 +++
